Job summary

Hertfordshire County Council is seeking a Liaison Officer to support vulnerable adults in Stevenage with hybrid working. This role centers on coordinating Appointeeship and Deputyship cases and safeguarding clients’ income and financial wellbeing.

You will work with social care, legal teams and external agencies to progress new referrals, gather information, and ensure timely applications with the DWP and Court of Protection, including home visits when required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Appointeeship and Deputyship responsibilities.
• Understanding welfare benefits and financial inclusion.
• Experience managing casework and referrals.
• Willingness to travel and conduct home visits.
• Strong organisation and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage new referrals and assess whether they meet service criteria.
• Gather information with partner agencies to progress cases.
• Support Appointeeship and Deputyship applications with DWP and Court of Protection.
• Maximise client income by ensuring entitlements and benefits are in place.
• Maintain accurate records and meet deadlines for cases.
• Travel for home and bank visits when required.
