Job summary

French Selection (FS) invites a creative Textile Designer to join a fast-growing international design and manufacturing business. You will design textile collections for major UK retailers, shaping prints, patterns, colour stories and artwork, working closely with internal teams, retailers and overseas suppliers from concept to production.

Ideal candidates have strong print and pattern design, knowledge of dobby and jacquard, and excellent Illustrator and Photoshop skills.

Qualifications

• Strong print and pattern design background.
• Knowledge of dobby, jacquard and textile printing.
• Experience designing for high-street, supermarket or international retailers.
• Fashion-led retail or homeware experience highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of colour, pattern, trends and commercial design.
• Excellent Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills
• Good understanding of textile production and manufacturing
• Experience working with overseas suppliers advantageous
• Creative, organised and detail-focused
• Able to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
• Confident communicator and collaborative team player

Responsibilities

• Design and develop textile collections for major UK retailers.
• Create trend-led prints, patterns, colourways and artwork.
• Use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to develop designs and technical artwork.
• Work with print, dobby, jacquard and other textile techniques.
• Research fashion, lifestyle, interior and retail trends.
• Develop seasonal concepts, mood boards and colour stories.
• Prepare artwork, specifications and design packs for suppliers.
• Review strike-offs, lab dips and samples.
• Work closely with product development, buying and technical teams.
• Liaise with UK retailers and overseas suppliers.
• Manage multiple design projects and deadlines.
• Organise and coordinate product samples.
• Work closely with UK and international design teams.
