Overview

Mixture of remote and assessment centre working, offering an exceptional work-life balance. As a Functional Assessor you will work autonomously to assess the cases of claimants who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit, as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). The funding helps support individuals to live as much of an independent life as possible. You may conduct some of these assessments remotely.

An in-depth training programme is provided which is fully paid for, so you will feel fully equipped for your new role - plus this role counts towards your clinical hours, helping you maintain and uphold your registration.

Responsibilities

• Use your clinical experience to work with people who have a diverse range of health conditions to understand how their challenges and the ways their disability affect them impact daily life.
• Work within an office environment and at home to complete detailed, meaningful and respectful assessments over the telephone, via video or face-to-face.
• Interpret medical evidence and gather findings into a comprehensive report to support decision-making by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Requirements

• Qualified Nurses, Physiotherapists, Paramedics, Pharmacists or Occupational Therapists are eligible for this vacancy.
• NMC/HCPC registration is required.
• At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential.
• Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and IT competency is a must.
