Job summary

Solihull Council is looking for an experienced Systems and Data Analyst to join its Children’s Services team, with hybrid working in Solihull. You’ll maintain Power BI dashboards, analyse caseloads and workloads, and produce monthly performance reports for managers and senior leaders.

This role focuses on data accuracy, dashboard upkeep, and developing reporting outputs. It requires strong Power BI, Excel, and data-transfer understanding, with an immediate start for a three-month assignment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Data Analyst, Performance Analyst or similar.
• Strong Power BI skills, including dashboard maintenance, reporting and data visualisation.
• Good Excel skills and experience analysing large datasets.
• Experience producing performance reports and interpreting operational data.
• Understanding of databases and how data transfers between different systems.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and ensure data accuracy.
• Good communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, update and monitor existing Power BI dashboards and reporting tools.
• Analyse operational data relating to caseloads, workloads, waiting lists and practitioner allocations.
• Produce accurate monthly performance reports for management and senior leadership teams.
• Monitor data quality and ensure information is accurate across different reporting systems.
• Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns and areas for improvement.
• Support the development and improvement of performance monitoring systems.
• Work with Children’s Services colleagues to ensure reporting requirements are met.
• Support quarterly reporting requirements, with potential responsibility from January onwards.
• Present complex data and findings clearly to colleagues and managers.
