Job summary

AECOM in London is seeking a data analytics professional to help automate data processes and build Power BI dashboards for project performance.

You will work with the information management team to transform data from multiple sources, explore data quality, and contribute to data models while learning SQL and supporting software tools. The role offers hybrid work and Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Statistics) or equivalent practical experience.
• Training within Design and Information Management will be provided; individuals with experience in other industries are encouraged to apply.
• Power BI: Basic to intermediate proficiency (data modelling and DAX a plus).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand and solve project-level issues.
• Willingness to learn new technologies; data analysis, automation and basic programming concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex data insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Creative mindset with a desire to develop innovative solutions.
• Familiarity with SQL; experience with data visualization tools; knowledge of Agile/Waterfall methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Automation Development: develop automated data processes and ETL workflows from various project sources.
• Power BI Development: create dashboards and reports to visualise project data, translate requirements, contribute to data models.
• Data Exploration & Analysis: identify trends, anomalies and improvement opportunities in project data.
• Software Development Support: learn SQL and assist with small software development tasks.
• Creative Problem Solving: propose innovative data solutions.
• Documentation: maintain documentation for processes, reports and data models.
• Data Quality: contribute to maintaining data accuracy across projects.
