Job summary

BMS Performance Ltd. in London is seeking a Data Engineer to drive cloud data migrations and build robust ETL pipelines, working across software and data teams to move customer data to cloud platforms.

The role combines ownership of projects with collaboration, mentoring juniors, and contributing to infrastructure and product initiatives. Office attendance is required twice per week in South West London; the package includes a salary up to £58,000, bonus, medical insurance, 25 days leave, and

Qualifications

• At least three years' experience in data engineering or related discipline.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
• Strong AWS experience (EC2, S3, Lambda) and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong MySQL skills and OO programming.
• Experience with C#, .NET Core, Python, PHP and React.
• Experience building ETL pipelines and data integration across legacy and modern systems.
• Git, CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• Experience supporting AI/ML data workflows.
• Knowledge of data governance, monitoring, observability and GDPR requirements.
• Familiarity with Kafka, Spark or Flink.

Responsibilities

• Own migration projects from source data to transfer, validation and troubleshooting.
• Develop and improve ETL pipelines using Python, MySQL and AWS.
• Build migration tools linking legacy PHP/C# systems with modern .NET services.
• Develop .NET microservices with monitoring and integration into wider platforms.
• Configure AWS infrastructure to support secure, scalable data processing.
• Maintain data quality, lineage, governance and traceability throughout migration.
• Support AI/ML projects through reliable datasets and metadata.
• Contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices and deployment procedures.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior colleagues across teams.
