Job summary

Lancashire County Council’s in-house Digital Services team is seeking a Cybersecurity Compliance Officer to join its department of more than 450 staff in Preston. The role focuses on strengthening cyber security and supporting modern digital services for residents and communities across Lancashire.

Your role includes driving appropriate controls, advising on information security, and managing an information assurance framework to meet evolving standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience in vulnerability management and risk assessment.
  • Familiarity with intelligence feeds and information-sharing mechanisms.
  • Ability to translate intelligence into actionable recommendations for defenders and decision-makers.
  • Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain and intelligence lifecycle methodologies.
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001, PCI, PSN, NCSC standards.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Digital to have the correct controls in place to address changes in the cyber threat landscape to manage and minimise risks.
  • Provide professional advice on all aspects of Information & Cyber Security and Assurance to colleagues across Digital Services and the Council.
  • Create and operate an Information Assurance framework, to meet evolving business needs and changing industry standards.
  • To manage ICT staff and partners engaged in Information Security and Assurance activities.
  • Attend conferences, seminars and training; to gain and maintain specific expertise in standards, strategies and best practice across government and industry relating to Information Security.
