Job summary

Ashurst Perkins Coie is seeking a Cyber Security Operations Analyst to monitor security events, analyse data, and respond to incidents. You will document and standardise processes across security operations, aiming to automate where appropriate, while supporting BAU activities in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a strong technical background in cybersecurity, excellent analytical and documentation skills, and will be based in Glasgow with hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding and experience of cyber security operations and security best practices, with knowledge of recognised frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls or ITIL.
• Strong knowledge of network security, intrusion detection/prevention systems and SIEM tools.
• Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, SIEM, DLP and endpoint protection. Practical understanding of the application of various security tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical processes into clear, practical documentation and engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Analyse existing operational processes and identify inefficiencies, duplication and risk
• Design and document standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Develop high-quality operational documentation.
• Monitor security alerts and events using security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
• Investigate and triage security events based on severity and impact.
