Job summary

Police Digital Service is seeking a Cyber Detect Analyst within the National Management Centre. You will respond to security threats, triage alerts, and work with incident response teams to ensure rapid resolution.

The role requires collaboration with customers and CIMT, plus ongoing content optimization. Ideal candidates have experience in fast-paced operations, strong teamwork, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Experience working in a team.
• Experience in a customer facing environment.
• Knowledge of security methodologies and processes.
• Knowledge of commonly deployed security tools and products.
• Knowledge of internet protocols and applications.
• Hands-on IP networks knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Respond to security threats on NMC monitored networks and coordinate with Incident Response.
• Perform initial triage of alerts and determine true/false positives.
• Gather incident data and identify gaps in content or tuning opportunities.
• Assess incident severity and escalate as appropriate.
• Collaborate with customers and CIMT teams for incident handling.
• Analyse trends and report findings to forces at regular intervals.
• Contribute to content improvement and optimization.
