Job summary

Canopius in London seeks an experienced Engineering Underwriter to manage a global construction and engineering risk portfolio. You will apply disciplined risk selection and technical judgment while building strong broker and client relationships to drive profitable growth.

Based in the City, this role supports Canopius’ Engineering products within Natural Resources, with a hybrid working model and a focus on market insight and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge of Engineering and Construction insurance.
• Experience underwriting complex risks in London or international markets.
• Ability to interpret risk data and inform decisions.
• Commercial acumen with ability to develop opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Execute new and renewal underwriting in line with plan and guidelines.
• Assess complex engineering risks, applying technical underwriting analysis.
• Contribute to underwriting guidelines and product frameworks.
• Provide guidance on Engineering products and market priorities.
• Monitor market conditions and translate developments into underwriting decisions.
• Support governance, audits and controls.
