Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a Commissioning Engineer for Renewables in Leicester. The role involves leading site testing, startup and handover of projects, coordinating with clients and subcontractors, and ensuring safe operation of gas metering systems.

The candidate will manage commissioning activities from factory acceptance through to customer handover, with travel across the UK and Ireland as needed. Ideal candidates will hold a BS/BA in a relevant engineering field, have 5+ years in process

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree in E&I, E&C, Mechanical or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role in the process control industry
• In-depth knowledge of flow measurement and regulating gases; familiarity with metering & regulating core products
• Preferably knowledge of metering valuations and international/UK standards
• Willingness to travel and strong analytical/problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare test procedures and reports for factory acceptance tests and site end-to-end commissioning
• Act as company representative on site, lead, coordinate and troubleshoot; participate in site progress meetings
• Manage budget and change orders; oversee on-site installation checks, loop checks, and functional testing
• Configure and test flow computers, gas chromatographs, and supervisory control systems
• Validate instrumentation, safety relief valves, and ESD logic; troubleshoot on-site issues
• Sign off on final test documentation, red-line markups, and handover certificates
• Promote safety by establishing safe work practices and improving site safety culture; meet health, safety and environmental KPIs
• Ensure adherence to QMS and collaborate with Quality Manager on deliverable quality
