Job summary

Avove is seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst to join our growing team in Chorley with a flexible hybrid working arrangement. This role will support the Severn Trent Framework, working closely with operational, commercial and finance teams to deliver financial insight, budgeting, forecasting and robust reporting.

The successful candidate will play a key role in financial control, month-end processes and driving efficiencies, with strong analytical and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) finance professional, or qualified by experience, with strong financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyse complex data and provide actionable insights.
• Experience in finance business partnering or commercial finance, communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of management reporting, cost control, and forecasting processes.
• Experience collaborating with operational and commercial teams to drive efficiencies.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and accounting principles and controls.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and build stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Support annual planning, target setting, and budgeting through data analysis and reporting.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive operational efficiencies across the contract.
• Facilitate cash flow reviews, maintain forecasts, and provide updates to senior management.
• Support delivery of financial targets through performance monitoring and improvement plans.
• Assist with month-end processes and timely financial reporting.
• Work with commercial teams to ensure adherence to payment terms and improve cash collection.
• Build relationships across the business and provide clear financial insight to stakeholders.
