Job summary

Checkout.com in London is expanding its legal team and seeks a dynamic Commercial Counsel to own the commercial contract pipeline from drafting through negotiation and closing. You will handle customer, partner, and supplier agreements, ensuring alignment with regulatory and business goals as the company scales globally.

You should be a qualified solicitor with 3–7 PQE, comfortable working in a fast-paced fintech environment, and experienced with cross-border matters.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor/lawyer with 3–7 PQE.
• Experience in FinTech, payments, software, e-commerce, or banking is desirable.
• Experience in a fast-paced, start-up like environment is a plus.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements.
• Provide commercial legal advice on projects and risks.
• Manage and interpret contracts and resolve issues during negotiations.
• Conduct multi-jurisdictional legal research.
• Support strategic initiatives with proactive advice.
