Job summary

Mattinson Partnership is recruiting a Technical Director or Associate Director for Sustainability & Climate in the UK. You will lead climate delivery within a multidisciplinary team, engage clients from early stages through delivery, and help grow the Climate & Sustainability service line.

The role combines technical delivery with leadership, client management and business development, offering autonomy, sector progression, and a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in climate and carbon assessments within EIA context.
• Strong understanding of UK planning policy and environmental law.
• Proven leadership of technical teams and delivery of complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of climate and sustainability projects from inception to completion.
• Manage key client relationships as a trusted technical adviser.
• Oversee climate and carbon assessments as part of EIAs.
• Deliver Net Zero strategies and decarbonisation plans.
• Prepare and review high-quality technical reports.
• Mentor junior consultants and technical specialists.
• Contribute to business development and tender submissions.
• Collaborate across environmental disciplines and shape team growth.
