Job summary

Green Gen Cymru is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead the network design and engineering team in Wales. You will oversee design, delivery, and technical standards for the company’s renewable electricity network, collaborating with consultants, contractors, and other network owners.

The role requires proven senior management experience in energy projects, strong leadership, and a strategy-focused mindset.

Qualifications

Degree qualification in engineering or relevant previous experience will be considered for this role.
Senior manager in energy project delivery with experience in a regulated network.
Proven track record of managing engineering teams to deliver energy projects.
Experience applying CDM to engineering during project phases.
Experience with ENA, Distribution Code and Grid Code standards.
Team management experience.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the engineering and network design team.
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, customers and other network owners.
Act as Technical Authority for Engineering and ensure standards applied.
Coordinate with Consents, Regulation, Connections, Project Management, Procurement and Construction teams.
Report monthly on progress, activities and risk.
Develop engineering policies and procedures to raise design standards.
Engage with ENA/INA/Ofgem and other bodies as needed.
Foster collaboration across disciplines.
