Job summary

Weightmans in the United Kingdom is recruiting an experienced Paralegal to join the Casualty team across Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Leicester or Birmingham. You will work alongside solicitors on a broad range of casualty matters for insurers, large corporates, public sector bodies and other leading clients.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Paralegal in litigation, insurance or personal injury.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and work to deadlines.
• Excellent communication with clients, insurers and colleagues.
• Proven organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience supporting solicitors on casualty matters.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the management of a varied caseload of casualty claims.
• Support solicitors and senior lawyers in the handling of litigated and pre-litigated matters.
• Draft correspondence, court documents, pleadings, instructions to counsel and witness statements.
• Review liability evidence, medical records, schedules of loss and disclosure documentation.
• Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries.
• Liaise with clients, insurers, witnesses, experts and third parties.
• Attend client meetings and, where appropriate, court hearings.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with client service standards, court deadlines and regulatory requirements.
• Manage your own caseload under supervision, where appropriate.
