Job summary

The Oval Partnership is recruiting an experienced Capital Procurement Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract for a market-leading FMCG food manufacturing group.

The role is based at central offices in Yorkshire with a weekly site visit and supplier engagement across UK facilities, plus two days from home. You will lead CapEx commercial activity, supplier negotiations, and contract management across a national footprint.

Qualifications

• CapEx procurement experience in manufacturing (food/FMCG a plus).
• Practical knowledge of JCT contracts and heavy equipment procurement terms.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills focused on value, cost avoidance and risk mitigation.
• Willingness to travel to UK manufacturing sites; full UK driving licence.
• Available immediately or within 1 month notice.

Responsibilities

• CapEx category management across plant machinery, process engineering, site upgrades, and civil works.
• Draft, negotiate, and adapt supplier agreements—incorporating JCT frameworks and robust SLAs.
• Partner with Heads of Engineering, Project Directors, and Operations teams across UK facilities to drive value.
• Lead full tender cycles (RFPs/RFIs), supplier selection, cost-reduction initiatives, and performance management.
