Job summary

Butler Ross is seeking a Buyer / Material Planner based in High Wycombe. The role combines hands-on purchasing with material requirements planning to ensure production materials are available and deliveries meet schedules. You will work with ERP/MRP systems and analyse production demand to support multiple UK sites.

The role offers hybrid working with two days per week from home and a salary up to £35,000. A proactive approach to supplier management and inventory control is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in purchasing, materials planning or supply chain operations.
• Hands-on use of an ERP/MRP system in manufacturing, assembly or engineering.
• Experience reviewing MRP recommendations and converting requirements into purchase orders or delivery schedules.
• Ability to interpret BOMs, including quantities and multilevel assemblies.
• Understanding of demand, stock, open orders, lead times and safety stock.
• Intermediate Excel skills: SUM, SUMIF, COUNTIF, XLOOKUP & VLOOKUP and PivotTables.

Responsibilities

• Take operational responsibility for day-to-day purchasing.
• Review MRP recommendations and planned orders to determine material requirements and dates.
• Maintain inventory availability while minimising excess inventory and working capital.
• Use Excel to analyse purchasing, inventory, supplier and planning data; prepare reports.
