Job summary

Butler Rose Ltd in St Ives is seeking a Bookkeeper to join its accountancy practice and support a varied portfolio of clients with day-to-day bookkeeping needs. The role requires careful, accurate work and confidence handling client queries.

Experience with Xero and Sage is desirable, and a practice background is preferred but not essential. You will work with the wider accounts team to deliver timely, high-quality service and maintain up-to-date records, with hybrid working and a supportive

Qualifications

• Experience using Xero and Sage is desirable.
• Previous accountancy practice experience is essential.
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients would be advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Good communication skills, with the confidence to deal directly with clients.
• Well organised and able to manage workloads effectively.

Responsibilities

• Managing the bookkeeping needs of a portfolio of clients.
• Posting and processing sales and purchase invoices.
• Completing bank reconciliations.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Answering ad hoc client queries via email, telephone and face-to-face.
• Working closely with the accounts team to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Supporting clients with their day-to-day bookkeeping requirements.
