Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer for the Design & Advanced Technology (DAT) Practice in the UK, based in Epsom with hybrid work. You’ll support multi-disciplinary design on iconic projects and grow toward chartership while collaborating with internal and external teams.

You will apply current design codes, engage with site visits, and contribute to technical deliverables, reports, and calculations within a supportive, diverse team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Motivation to work towards chartership with a professional institution.
• Curious mindset and enthusiasm for solving real-world challenges.
• Proactive and collaborative to drive teamwork across projects.
• Proficiency in current design codes, standards and CDM regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead a small team delivering technical design on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Collaborate with civil engineering and other teams on design deliverables.
• Work independently with technical guidance as needed.
• Apply engineering judgment to solve design problems.
• Provide guidance to junior team members where appropriate.
• Engage with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Adhere to QA standards and check own work and others’ work.
• Prepare technical deliverables such as reports, specs, drawings, calculations, and scopes of work.
