Job summary

Advania UK is seeking an AI Factory Lead Architect to steer the internal AI Factory, delivering production-grade AI solutions using Microsoft technologies. You will define architecture, governance, and security for our AI estate, lead a small team of AI engineers, and collaborate with business leaders, the CTO and CIO to accelerate AI transformation.

The role embraces hands-on design and delivery, strong stakeholder engagement, and a clear path to scalable, governed AI across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering AI solutions into production, not just POCs.
• Strong agent building experience in Copilot Studio and Microsoft Foundry – managing complex reasoning, model selection, data connections and monitoring.
• Solid software engineering foundations: web apps, APIs, modern languages (Python, C#, TypeScript), CI/CD (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions), IaC, and Azure services.
• Experience in MCP (Model Context Protocol) development for exposing internal systems to agents securely.
• Practical knowledge of RAG and Azure AI Search.
• Knowledge of Copilot Studio and Power Platform governance fundamentals.
• Fluent use of agentic coding tools (GitHub Copilot).
• Ability to communicate with senior leaders and translate business needs into technical options.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI applications, agents, automations and dashboards, selecting patterns for each business challenge.
• Own end-to-end architecture of internal AI estate – reference architectures, environment strategy, security, cost management, observability, and DevOps processes.
• Run discovery sessions with stakeholders, translating needs into defined use cases with clear value and adoption plans.
• Provide day-to-day technical direction to the team, review designs and code, mentor team members.
• Implement Microsoft governance across Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure DevOps, and Azure hosting subscriptions.
• Define and run the support model for the AI estate – monitoring, incident response, release management, knowledge transfer.
• Enable the wider maker community – publish templates, standards, datasets, and guided paths from prototype to governed solutions.
• Contribute to prioritisation of the use case portfolio with senior leaders.
• Report progress and risks to the CTO and executives; present team work to stakeholders.
• Maintain awareness of evolving Microsoft AI roadmap and share learnings with AI colleagues.
