Job summary

James Andrews Recruitment seeks a Finance Assistant - Accounts Payable in Manchester City Centre for a 6-9 month temporary contract. The role is hybrid with two days in the office and three days from home, and a daily umbrella rate of around £160.

The ideal candidate will have a background in accounts payable and be comfortable handling ad hoc project admin tasks as needed. Immediate start availability is preferred.

• Background in accounts payable.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, checking, matching, batching and coding supplier invoices and credit notes and sending to relevant colleagues to obtain approval for payment
• Maintaining a clear electronic audit trail of invoices, approvals, Pos and correspondence
• Preparing approved items for payment runs and assisting with basic checks prior to payment
• Sending remittance advice and responding to routine supplier queries relating to invoices and payments
• Following up on overdue invoices, credits and open purchase orders, escalating when necessary
• Assisting with the identification of unpaid invoices and other amounts needed for month and year end reporting
• Setting up and maintaining purchase orders, issuing order numbers and updating the purchase order log
• Maintaining project folders, trackers and standard documents so records are complete and easily retrievable
• Assisting with the preparation of sales invoices as required and following up on routine outstanding income items as directed
