Job description

Salary: £33,600 per annum

Work Pattern: Shifts 4 on 4 off days

The main purpose of the role is to manage a team of Site Operative to deliver the service to members of the public and the Council contract. This will involve developing good working relationships and ensuring the contract runs in compliance with internal and external safety / environmental / permit / planning processes and procedures, as well as any contract requirements.

Your key responsibilities:

•Ownership of the SHEQ culture and behaviour for the contract.

• Assist and promote in meeting contractual and business recycling performance targets.

• Ensure the timely completion of actions given by management

• Develop and review risk assessments and safe operating procedure that are relevant to site activities.

• Ensure staffing levels are maximised to ensure the site is fully operational at all timers

• Manage staff holidays and sickness absence to company standards, maintain accurate records following agreed protocols.

• Comply with and actively participate in company standards, procedures, environmental and quality systems.

• Report all non-compliance’s and breaches of site rules following reporting systems

• Ensure compliance with Environment site permit, reporting odour, spillages and leaks

Requirements

Essential criteria for this role:

• Good communication, listening skills with 3 years’ experience in supervising staff

• Clean driving licence with own vehicle

• Demands high standards of themselves and others and is able to translate this into high quality, high pace output.

• Ability to build and maintain strong, cohesive relationships at all levels.

• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance.

• Good organisation skills and the ability to forward plan making best use of time.

• High levels of knowledge and skills with IT packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)
