Job summary

Biffa is seeking an HWRC Operative for the Lingerton Site in Lochgilphead. You will ensure visitors have a quality and safe experience while maximizing recycling and ensuring Health & Safety compliance.

You’ll work in a small team, assist at the weighbridge during busy periods, and perform general site duties to keep the area safe and tidy. The role involves following site procedures, performing environmental inspections, and supporting other sites within the region as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist users of the site in segregating materials in line with the Site Working Plan and Safe Operating Procedures, to maximise recycling and landfill diversion.
• Working in a small team, being totally focused on giving the customers who attend site a quality and safe experience
• Operation of the HWRC on a daily basis and providing support to the weighbridge for incoming and outgoing transactions during busy periods or periods of staff leave
• Undertake general site work/duties which include housekeeping, maintenance of skips and containers, litter/paper picking and generally keeping the site safe and tidy
• Follow all risk assessments and safe operating procedure that are relevant to the post
• Keep all equipment clean and maintained to ensure a safe working environment
• Carry out Environmental inspections and assist in closing out corrective actions
• Comply with and actively participate in company standards, procedures, health & safety, environmental, and quality systems
• Provide similar support at other sites within the region as required.
