Job Title: Refrigeration Engineer

Location: Sheffield

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

Salary: £46,791.53 per annum (including Standby Payment, Overtime, Travel Time), 33 Days Holiday, Private Pension & Benefits (including Private Health Care, Life Insurance, Employee Discounts)

An exciting opportunity has emerged for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join our company, working with one of our major UK supermarket clients.

The role involves carrying out planned and reactive refrigeration maintenance across retail stores, maintaining and repairing refrigeration equipment. You will also undertake regular store visits for reactive work, PPMs, and minor repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform PPM and reactive refrigeration maintenance across multiple sites.
• Service and repair CO2 refrigeration pack equipment.
• Identify faults in plant and machinery, advise the Refrigeration Manager, and recommend replacements if necessary.
• Carry out minor alterations and installations within your technical competence according to current specifications.

Qualifications / Experience:

Essential:

• SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Refrigeration or equivalent qualification.
• City and Guilds 2079-1 FGas Category 1.

Desirable:

• City and Guilds 7671 18th Edition.
• City and Guilds CO2 Refrigeration System Services.

The ideal candidate:

• Multiple years' experience with supermarket refrigeration systems.
• Flexible to participate in a 24/7 on-call rota (1 week in 4).
• Full driving license.
• Experience with PDA systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Experience with PPM and reactive maintenance in retail environments.
