Job Title: Refrigeration Engineer

Location: York

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

Salary: £45,923.75 per annum Total Salary (Inclusive of Standby Payment), Overtime, Travel Time, 33 Days Holiday, Private Pension & Benefits - Including Private Health Care, Life Insurance, Employee Discounts

An exciting opportunity has emerged for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join our company to work with one of our major UK supermarket clients.

The role involves carrying out planned and reactive refrigeration maintenance across several retail stores, maintaining and repairing a range of refrigeration equipment. You will also undertake regular store visits to complete reactive work, PPMs, and minor repairs as requested by the customer.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carrying out PPM and reactive refrigeration maintenance across multiple sites.
  2. Servicing and repairing a range of CO2 refrigeration pack equipment.
  3. Identifying non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and advising the Refrigeration Manager with recommendations regarding replacements.
  4. Performing minor alterations and installations within your technical competence according to current specifications.
Qualifications / Experience:

Essential

  • SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Refrigeration or Equivalent Qualification.
  • City and Guilds 2079-1 FGas Category 1.

Desirable but not essential:

  • City and Guilds 7671 18th Edition.
  • City and Guilds Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Refrigeration System Services.
The ideal candidate:
  • Has multiple years' experience working with supermarket refrigeration systems.
  • Is flexible to be part of the 24/7 on-call rota every 1:4 weeks.
  • Possesses a full driving license.
  • Has experience using a PDA system.
  • Can read technical drawings.
  • Has carried out PPM and reactive maintenance within a similar retail environment.
