Job summary

Trevett Project Services is seeking a mobile HVAC and gas multiskilled engineer to cover Chester and surrounding areas. You will join a national engineering team delivering planned and reactive maintenance across commercial and retail sites, ensuring safe and efficient operation of HVAC and gas systems.

Role requires strong fault-finding skills, aGas Safe portfolio, and the ability to work to SFG20-based schedules.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration / HVAC (or equivalent) is required.
• F-Gas Category 1 is required.
• CCN1 - Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety and related qualifications are essential.
• Experience with larger complex sites or critical plant systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across commercial and retail sites.
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs to HVAC and gas systems.
• Maintain and service HVAC and gas plant including boilers, AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF, pumps, valves, and related equipment.
• Work in compliance with Gas Safe, F-Gas regs, RAMS and CAFM documentation.
• Produce accurate quotations for remedial works with clear scope and labour estimates.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a mobile HVAC / Gas multiskilled Engineer covering Chester and surrounding area, you will be part of the National engineering team, responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a range of commercial and retail sites. You will ensure HVAC / Gas systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory and client requirements.

Carry out PPM tasks in line with SFG20, statutory requirements, and contract specifications.

Maintain and service HVAC and gas plant including:

• Commercial gas boilers and heaters
• AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF, split systems
• Pumps, valves, fans, controls, and associated plant

Ensure all works are completed proactively, efficiently, and to the required standard.

Reactive Maintenance & Fault Finding

Diagnose faults across both HVAC and gas systems, completing repairs within SLA requirements.

Minimise downtime through effective troubleshooting and first-time fix focus.

Escalate complex issues to the helpdesk or Contract Manager where appropriate.

Compliance & Health & Safety

Ensure all gas works are completed in accordance with Gas Safe regulations and current legislation.

Ensure HVAC works comply with F-Gas regulations, manufacturer guidance, and company procedures.

Maintain site logbooks and ensure accurate compliance documentation is completed and uploaded via the CAFM system.

Work strictly in accordance with company H&S policies, RAMS, and statutory requirements.

Quotations & Remedial Works

Identify remedial works and produce accurate, commercially sound quotations, including:

• Correct parts identification
• Realistic labour allowances
• Clear scope and methodology

• CCN1 - Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety
• CDGA1 - Non-Domestic Natural Gas & LPG Direct Fired Heating Appliances
• CODNCO1 - Changeover Domestic to Non-Domestic Core
• CIGA1 - Non-Domestic Indirect Gas-Fired Heating Appliances
• CPA1 - Combustion Performance Analysis

• TPCP1 / TPCP1A - Testing & Purging

• Experience with larger complex sites, or critical plant systems (e.g. chillers, large AHUs, Boilers).

Experience

• 2-5+ years' experience in commercial gas maintenance.
• Experience within a mobile FM environment desirable.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability
• Proven commercial HVAC / Gas maintenance experience
• Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety
• ACRIB Gold Skills Card (Desirable)
• Understanding of F-Gas compliance and environmental regulations.
• Electrical qualification or knowledge
• Asbestos awareness (Desirable)
• Experience working under the SFG20 framework for maintenance schedules.
• Experience with larger complex sites, or critical plant systems (e.g. chillers, large AHUs).
• 5 Years Industry Experience in similar position (Preferred)
• Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) or Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) (Preferred)
• Take part in the on-call rota
