Job summary

Volution Ventilation UK is seeking a Design Engineer to generate solutions from concept through to production, including CAD modelling (Autodesk Inventor), 2D drawings and analysis (FEA & CFD). You will develop ventilation products from initial concept through design, validation and introduction into production.

You will create detailed 3D CAD models, design components for manufacture, manage complex assemblies and produce BS 8888 drawings while coordinating with suppliers to meet time, cost and

Qualifications

• A relevant engineering qualification, preferably a 2:1 in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Product Design.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a mechanical design or product-development role.
• Strong 3D CAD capability using Autodesk Inventor or similar software.
• Experience designing plastic injection-moulded and sheet-metal components.

Responsibilities

• Develop ventilation products from concept through design, validation and production.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models using Autodesk Inventor.
• Design components using appropriate materials and processes for manufacture.
• Build and maintain complex CAD assemblies with multiple parts.
• Produce drawings to BS 8888 and manage engineering documentation.
• Develop innovative, cost-effective solutions to briefs.
• Support prototype manufacture, validation, testing and refinement.
• Apply FEA/CFD analysis where appropriate and coordinate outsourced analysis.
• Collaborate with suppliers to review tooling and coordinate design and projects.
