Here at Serco, we are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our FM department at HMP Ashfield, a category C male establishment prison based in Pucklechurch near Bristol. The operational capacity is for 416 prisoners, and it takes a skilled team to keep the facility safe, secure, and in proper working order.
The key purpose of this role is to carry out routine HVAC and/or Mechanical Engineering work, preventative maintenance, and repairs. You will ensure that various pre-planned maintenance schedules are kept up to date and maintained as required. The role calls for leadership, setting visible standards of personal performance and accountability, and the post holder is expected to operate with a degree of independence.

What you'll need to do the job
You should have an HVAC and/or Mechanical Engineering qualification (C&G, NVQ). Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable.
You must hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and have at least 3 years post-qualification experience.
The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team, with a flexible and proactive approach, committed to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. You will be part of a call-out rota and may work weekends.
All offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks and approval by the MoJ. You must pass CRB and Security Clearance at CTC level (Counter Terrorism Check).
