Job Summary:

The HVAC Maintenance Mechanic supports Engineering Services by operating and inspecting industrial HVAC systems, assisting with repairs, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and GMP standards. The role involves routine tasks in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment, requiring attention to deviations and accurate documentation of all work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project team for start-up and commissioning of new industrial HVAC equipment associated with the new Central Utilities Building (CUB) and manufacturing building. Initial schedule will be standard office hours M-F during the project phase and will transition to a shift-based schedule to align with 24/7 manufacturing operations.
  • Perform all work safely, adhering to GMP guidelines, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Operate HVAC systems and apply preventative maintenance practices to maintain equipment.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of direct and indirect HVAC equipment & systems.
  • Maintain HVAC areas to a level of audit readiness at all times, routinely auditing spaces for compliance.
  • Gain SME knowledge of HVAC core SOPs and excursion response procedures, responding appropriately to alarms and equipment failures.
  • Use CMMS functions to document maintenance activities, query overdue work orders, and manage department backlog.
  • Respond to alarm reporting via DCS systems like DeltaV and BAS, coaching junior technicians as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of equipment schematics, P&ID’s, and engineering drawings related to HVAC.
  • Navigate engineering documentation and collaborate with Reliability and Engineering on projects and repairs.
  • Assist with root cause investigations related to equipment failures.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to utilize hand tools.
  • Learn to read complex mechanical drawings.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge of Spare Parts policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and apply SOPs continually.
  • Basic shop math skills, ability to read and write.
  • Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge.
