Qualifications

  • Apprentice-trained is desired.
  • Previous experience in Building Services Maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance.
  • Maintain and repair Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, and more.
  • Carry out checks on Water Treatment Systems and Plumbing systems.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading building services provider on a high-profile contract in Reading. Working Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, you'll be part of a large on-site maintenance team responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, remedial works, and emergency response.
This well-established company is known for investing in its engineers, offering clear paths for training and career progression. The role is based on a Retails park site in Reading – a contract that reflects the company's high standards and long-term commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance Maintenance and repair of Air Handling Units (AHUs) Fan Coil Units (FCUs) Pumps (including Bearings and Mechanical Seals) Water Treatmnt Systems (Tap Tests, Dosing, Cooling Tower Checks, etc.) Chilled Water Systems Plumbing systems Sprinkler systems Pressurisation Units Generators Basic Building Management System (BMS) Operation Requirements Mechanically qualified to City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ, or equivalent Apprentice-trained (desirable) Previous experience in Building Services Maintenance Strong client-facing skills and professional attitude Package Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm 25 days annual leave Pension scheme Abundant overtime available Comprehensive training provided Excellent internal progression opportunities
