Job summary

COREcruitment is seeking an experienced Refrigeration Engineer for permanent and temporary opportunities across a large supermarket estate in the UK. The role focuses on service, maintenance and reactive support, with field-based duties and a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

You will diagnose faults, perform PPMs to SFG20 standards, and ensure all work adheres to F-Gas regulations while delivering excellent on-site client service. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience on commercial refrigeration in retail or FM environments.
• F-Gas Cat 1 qualification.
• NVQ/City & Guilds in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintenance and repair of commercial refrigeration systems (packs, integrals, walk-ins).
• Fault finding and reactive breakdown response.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with standards.
• Ensure compliance with F-Gas regulations and health & safety standards.
• Complete job reports via PDA/CAF system.
• Provide excellent client-facing service on-site.

Refrigeration Engineer – Permanent & Temporary Opportunities

Working Hours: 45 hours per week

OTE of £60K

We are currently recruiting experienced Refrigeration Engineers to join a well-established national facilities management provider supporting a major portfolio. Due to seasonal demand and ongoing contract growth, opportunities are available on both a permanent and temporary basis.

This is a field-based role focused on delivering high-quality service, maintenance, and reactive support across a large-scale supermarket estate.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems (packs, integrals, walk-ins)

• Fault finding and reactive breakdown response

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with SFG20 standards

• Ensuring all work is completed in compliance with F-Gas regulations and health & safety standards

• Accurate completion of job reports via PDA/CAF system

• Providing excellent client-facing service while on-site

Requirements

• Proven experience working on commercial refrigeration systems within a retail or FM environment

• Valid F-Gas (Category 1) qualification

• NVQ / City & Guilds in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or equivalent

• Full UK driving licence

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

• Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
