Air Conditioning Engineer (HVAC) - Permanent

Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 (Van, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, overtime, and excellent benefits)

Location: Exeter and surrounding area

A market leader in the Facilities Maintenance sector is seeking an Air Conditioning and Multi Skilled Engineer to work in Exeter and nearby areas. The role involves working with high street retailers and banking clients and is a mobile position. The company offers excellent benefits, competitive remuneration, and high staff retention.

Job Purpose

As an Air Conditioning Engineer, you will operate and maintain building AC/HVAC systems, perform Planned Preventative Maintenance & Reactive Maintenance, conduct diagnostic checks, and fault find on HVAC appliances.

You will also undertake general maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing and toilet blockages, to support the maintenance team. Participation in out-of-hours call-out rota and accurate completion of work documentation are required.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in maintenance, testing, and fault finding on HVAC systems
• Refrigeration or Air Conditioning specific qualification (not F-Gas), such as:
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning and Small Refrigeration
• City & Guilds Refrigeration and Air-conditioning (7189) Level 2 or 3
• Refrigeration, Air-conditioning, and Heat Pump Systems (6090) Level 3
• F-Gas Category 1 (City & Guilds 2079 or 2078 Safe Handling of Refrigerants)
• At least 5 years' experience in an air conditioning service role (not installation)
• Experience with packaged units, air handling equipment, and split systems
• Experience working on commercial equipment (not domestic)
• Qualifications: C&G 236 Part 1 & 2, BS7671 Electrical Regulations, C&G 2391 Electrical Inspection and Testing (desired)

Benefits

Salary: £30,000 - £50,500, depending on qualifications and experience.
