Job description

HVAC Engineer required for our client, a leading HVAC company that has 6 regional offices and has been expanding since it formed over 20 years ago. Our client offers their customers a complete turnkey solution for the installation, service, maintenance, fault finding and repair on a range of HVAC equipment.

Their client base consists of long–standing client relationships with clients such as David Lloyd Leisure, Vue Cinemas, JD Sports, Tate & Lyle, Radisson Hotels, Hilton, & more.

HVAC Engineer Salary & Benefits

  • Basic Salary up to GBP40,000 DOE (GBP50,000 pro rata for 5–day week)
  • Working Hours – 6:30pm to 3am x 4 nights a week
  • No call out rota whilst on night work (although may need to attend call outs whilst working)
  • Company Van – Optional Personal Use of the vehicle
  • Profit share scheme applicable after 12 months' service – Up to GBP3,600 tax free
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x
  • Pension
  • 30 holidays including bank holidays (FTE) this will increase by 5 days after 5 & 10 years of service

The HVAC Engineer must have a proven track record with servicing, fault finding and repairing air conditioning systems, namely VRV/VRF's, Split Units, Chillers, Chilled Fan Coil Units, AHUs & Cold Rooms

  • Fan Coil Unit (FCU) Maintenance
  • BMS Operation

  • System & Documentation Management

Fan Coil Unit (FCU) Maintenance involves:

  • Locate and access FCUs across the site.
  • Remove, inspect, and clean FCU filters.
  • Conduct general inspections of FCUs to identify wear, damage, or inefficiencies.
  • Repairs and Remedial works as required

BMS Operation involves:

  • Switch Building Management System (BMS) modes between heating and cooling as required.

Temperature Monitoring involves:

  • Record and monitor air–off temperatures to ensure system efficiency.

System & Documentation Management involves:

  • Add and update asset information on SolarVista (SV)
  • Accurately complete maintenance sheets within SV
  • Log and update defect reports in SV
  • Complete Job Completion Reports (JCRs) and ensure timely job closure

HVAC Engineer Job Requirements

  • Apprenticeship served within the air conditioning industry (Not Essential)
  • Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or equivalent
  • 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants (F–Gas)
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Experienced with service, maintenance, fault finding and repair
