Job summary

Assystem is seeking an HVAC Design Engineer to act as the primary interface between HVAC design teams and construction teams. You will develop and review designs, and verify detailed specifications meet project requirements.

You should hold a mechanical/building services degree with 3–5 years of HVAC design experience, and be proficient in Revit, AutoCAD and BIM tools. The role is based in the UK with hybrid remote options.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of HVAC design experience in building services.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
• Experience working with contractors, site teams, and multi-disciplinary engineering groups.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a project-based environment.
• Experience in regulated industries or complex infrastructure projects is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• EssentialDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in HVAC design, building services engineering
• or system with HVAC codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, CIBSE, ISO, local regulations).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
• Experience working with contractors, site teams, and multi-disciplinary engineering groups.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a project-based environment.
• Experience in regulated industries or complex infrastructure projects is advantageous but not essential.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with HVAC design software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, BIM tools, load calculation software).
• Understanding of ventilation, heat load calculations, ductwork sizing, equipment selection, and system performance analysis.
• Knowledge of commissioning processes and quality assurance procedures.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
