At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Construction Engineer - HVAC at the Hinkley Point C nuclear project in Bridgwater, Somerset.

This is a unique opportunity to work with the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance coordinates the delivery of main MEH, cabling, and support services to ensure seamless project execution.

The role

As a Construction Engineer - HVAC, you will lead and manage your team, implement best practices, support continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with nuclear safety and site license requirements.

You will be responsible for preparing construction work packs, recording relevant information in the AS9 system, planning and scheduling tasks, collaborating with experts and clients, and managing documentation to ensure timely support for construction activities.

• Help plan and schedule tasks for your discipline to keep the project on track.
• Define the scope of your responsibilities clearly.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and client representatives.
• Identify workfronts through constructability reviews and schedules.
• Manage documents from start to finish, aiming for over 90% first-time acceptance.
• Ensure documents are ready in time to support construction, ideally three months prior to work commencement.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, based at the Hinkley Point C Nuclear New Build in Bridgewater, Somerset.

Essential experience

• Experience on major construction projects, with a proven track record in a highly regulated sector and knowledge of Safe Systems of Work.
• Experience at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including within Joint Ventures.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent, with experience in HVAC system installation.
• CCSNG Safety Passport.
