The Apprentice Service Technician is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support while learning on the job and studying towards Refrigeration and Air Conditioning NVQ level 2 and 3. This role plays a crucial part in delivering high standards of service efficiently to maintain customer plant and equipment as per our maintenance and service contracts. The goal is to maximize technician productivity, enhance customer experience, and improve operational processes. The role includes a comprehensive training pathway to become a qualified Service Technician.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer and Technical:
- Able to learn and diagnose system problems when servicing products and equipment on projects and customer site visits.
- Attend customer sites to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), customer breakdowns, warranty work, hire, and commissioning workloads.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted point of contact.
- Collaborate with Service desk, Sales, and Operations teams, establishing strong communication channels.
- Use cutting-edge software, technology, hand tools, blueprints, and engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units. Full training provided.
- Learn to complete reporting and analysis, generating reports on work orders.
- Foster strong customer relationships through exceptional service.
- Communicate with supervisors, service managers, senior technicians, and customers to share updates and drive improvements.
Internal Controls and Administration:
- Studying towards Refrigeration and Air Conditioning NVQ level 2 and 3.
- Knowledge of customer service principles.
- Effective communication skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Apps, diagnostic software, and MS Office Suite.
Skills and Capabilities:
- Knowledge of manufacturing industry as part of NVQ studies.
- People and communication skills with a positive mindset.
- Suitable certificates or studying towards NVQ level 2 and 3 with F-Gas.
- Willing to cover standby and call-outs, including weekends and holidays, once NVQ level 2 and 3 with F-Gas are obtained.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- UK Driver's license, as a company vehicle will be provided.
- Right to Work in the country of application.
