Our apprenticeship

A BAM apprenticeship is a full-time earn and learn position, where you will be involved in delivering multi-million projects, leaving a lasting legacy and positive change in our communities.

You will be enrolled onto an L3 Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, and Heat Pump Engineering Technician Apprenticeship with a local college.

Training is delivered through a blended approach, including block release at college, work-based assessments, and online learning such as reflective accounts, witness statements, activity-based workbooks, presentations, professional interviews/discussions, and work-based projects.

What you'll be doing

As an HVAC Apprentice, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to learn how to:

  • Maintain, service, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems

  • Carry out routine inspections and performance checks

  • Identify and resolve faults in HVAC equipment

  • Work safely in a live airport environment with strict compliance standards

  • Support planned preventative maintenance and emergency response tasks

You’ll combine real-world, on-site experience with structured learning delivered by an approved training provider.

What you'll need

Entry Requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths, English, and Science (Grade 4/C or above)

  • Must be able to pass enhanced background checks for airport access

  • Driving license (desirable)
