Job summary

Astute's Renewables team is supporting a growing organisation delivering major electricity infrastructure projects across the UK. The role takes overall delivery responsibility for a major HV project from construction through commissioning and handover, providing hands-on site leadership.

You will coordinate multiple contractors, manage programmes and interfaces, and ensure CDM 2015 and health & safety requirements are maintained. Hybrid working with travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in engineering or technical discipline.
• Project management certification (APM/PRINCE2/PMP) preferred.
• Experience delivering UK electricity transmission or distribution projects.

Responsibilities

• Take overall delivery responsibility for a major HV infrastructure project from construction through commissioning and handover.
• Provide hands-on site leadership and construction supervision.
• Coordinate multiple contractors and manage interfaces between civil, electrical and specialist packages.
• Manage project programmes, milestones, dependencies and critical path activities.
• Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including early warnings, compensation events, variations, notices and payment processes.
• Work with transmission stakeholders regarding outages, access, testing and energisation.
• Maintain strong control of project costs, forecasts and budgets.
• Ensure CDM 2015, health & safety, quality and environmental requirements are maintained.
• Review contractor performance and ensure works are delivered per designs and specs.
• Support commissioning, energisation, testing and final handover.
• Coordinate O&M readiness and ensure documentation is completed.
• Maintain risk registers and report to senior management and stakeholders.
• Manage relationships with contractors, consultants, designers and external stakeholders.
• Support development of future UK infrastructure projects and tendering strategies.
