Job summary

SSEN Transmission is seeking a Site Construction Manager to lead the Carnaig 400KV Substation Project from the Inverness/Alness area. You will manage earthworks, civils, earthing and switchgear installation, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery on site with contractors and the SSENT operations team.

Required: substations construction/commissioning experience, NEC contract familiarity, SMSTS qualification, and an engineering/Construction Management background.

Qualifications

• Experience in the construction and commissioning of High Voltage Substations or major infra projects.
• Strong leadership in challenging environments with excellent planning and stakeholder management.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and CDM regulations in a substation/utility context.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee safe delivery of construction and commissioning activities for the Carnaig 400KV Substation Project.
• Act as SSEN Transmission's primary site representative, managing contractor and subcontractor performance and ensuring quality and schedule adherence.
• Monitor progress, resources and KPIs; support NEC contract administration and supervise inspections, testing, and defect management.
