Job summary
SSE is recruiting a Protection & Control Engineer to join the SSEN Protection & Control Team, delivering designs from concept through energisation for 6.6kV–132kV networks in the UK. You will review third‑party P&C designs, specify relays, CTs and VTs, and produce AC/DC schematics with protection grading studies to ensure safe, compliant and cost‑effective solutions.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field with UK distribution network experience.
- Proven experience on 11kV–132kV networks and protection relays.
- Knowledge of UK electrical standards and CDM regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop scoping documentation and MC&P diagrams.
- Review third‑party P&C designs for 11kV, 33kV and 132kV networks.
- Specify P&C equipment and produce detailed AC/DC schematics.
- Carry out protection grading studies and relay settings creation.
