Job summary

Deploy Limited, on behalf of a Tier One contractor, is recruiting three HV Project Managers to lead 11kV–132kV cable installations, substation pre-construction activities and general civils within Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Roles available as contract (via limited company or CIS) or permanent hires.

You will manage on-site delivery teams, ensure NEC3 compliance, report risks, and coordinate with DNOs and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and to budget.

Qualifications

• HV project management experience on schemes 11kV–132kV, pre-construction and civils
• Knowledge of UK power distribution, substations, cabling and civils
• Relevant industry qualifications (degree/HND, NRSWA Supervisor)

Responsibilities

• Deliver HV distribution projects safely, within budgets and NEC3 requirements
• Lead on-site delivery teams and communicate objectives clearly
• Report progress, risks and issues to Senior Project Manager
• Attend weekly project review meetings and maintain SHEQ compliance
• Prepare and review CPPs and RAMS; obtain required permits
• Perform site inspections and drive improvements in quality and compliance
• Coordinate design, construction and commissioning across disciplines
• Liaise with DNO and other stakeholders on energisation and project matters
• Maintain strong internal and third-party relationships

Job description

Deploy has exciting opportunities available with a Tier One contractor, engaged on a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) framework, covering the Berkshire and Oxfordshire areas.

We require three HV Project Managers to lead:

• HV cable installations (11kV - 132kV)
• Pre-construction activities for substation works
• General civils (trenching, ducting etc, in accordance with NRSWA)

Responsibilities

• Safe, efficient delivery of these HV distribution projects, in line with DNO requirements, agreed budgets and legislation, working to NEC3 Option A
• Lead the management of on-site project delivery teams, ensuring objectives and expectations are clearly communicated
• Report on project progress, risks and any other issues to the Senior Project Manager
• Take part in weekly project review meetings
• Ensure adherence to the company's SHEQ rules and processes
• Prepare and review CPPs, RAMS and other required permits
• Carry out regular site inspections to confirm compliance and quality standards, making improvements where necessary
• Assist with incident investigations and the implementation of improvements
• Manage resource allocation, making sure that sufficient labour, plant and materials are available for all projects
• Monitor project progress against agreed timescales and milestones
• Provide cost information to the QS and assist the commercial team
• Coordinate and encourage collaboration in design, construction and commissioning across all disciplines, ensuring compliance with DNO specifications and industry engineering standards
• Liaise with the DNO for all project matters, including energisation works, as well as with other relevant stakeholders, such as local authorities
• Act as an ambassador for the company, maintaining positive relationships with internal and third-party teams

Requirements

• Previous experience as an HV Project Manager, working on schemes between 11kV and 132kV, covering areas such as pre-construction, civils and cable installation
• Demonstrable knowledge of UK power distribution sector, especially in the fields of substations, cabling and civils
• Relevant industry and engineering qualifications (degree, HND or equivalent, NRSWA Supervisor etc)
