Job summary

Deploy Recruitment Group Ltd is seeking three HV Project Managers for a tier-one contractor to lead HV distribution projects across Berkshire and Oxfordshire. The role covers HV cable installations, pre-construction activities for substations and civils works, with responsibility for safe delivery and regulatory compliance.

You will manage on-site delivery teams, report to the Senior Project Manager, participate in weekly reviews, ensure SHEQ compliance, and coordinate cross-discipline design

Qualifications

• Previous HV Project Manager experience on 11kV-132kV schemes
• Knowledge of UK power distribution sector, especially substations, cabling and civils
• Relevant industry/engineering qualifications (degree, HND or equivalent, NRSWA Supervisor etc)

Responsibilities

• Safe, efficient delivery of HV distribution projects in line with DNO requirements, budgets and NEC3 Option A
• Lead on-site project delivery teams with clear objectives and expectations
• Report on project progress, risks and issues to the Senior Project Manager
• Participate in weekly project review meetings
• Ensure adherence to SHEQ rules and processes
• Prepare and review CPPs, RAMS and other permits
• Carry out regular site inspections to confirm compliance and quality
• Assist with incident investigations and improvements
• Manage resource allocation (labour, plant, materials) for all projects
• Monitor progress against timescales and milestones
• Provide cost information to the QS and assist the commercial team
• Coordinate design, construction and commissioning across disciplines for DNO compliance
• Liaise with the DNO and local authorities on project matters
• Act as ambassador for the company and maintain relationships with internal and third-party teams

Job description

Deploy has exciting opportunities available with a Tier One contractor, engaged on a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) framework, covering the Berkshire and Oxfordshire areas.

We require three HV Project Managers to lead:

• HV cable installations (11kV - 132kV)
• Pre-construction activities for substation works
• General civils (trenching, ducting etc, in accordance with NRSWA)

Responsibilities will include:

• Safe, efficient delivery of these HV distribution projects, in line with DNO requirements, agreed budgets and legislation, working to NEC3 Option A
• Lead the management of on-site project delivery teams, ensuring objectives and expectations are clearly communicated
• Report on project progress, risks and any other issues to the Senior Project Manager
• Take part in weekly project review meetings
• Ensure adherence to the company's SHEQ rules and processes
• Prepare and review CPPs, RAMS and other required permits
• Carry out regular site inspections to confirm compliance and quality standards, making improvements where necessary
• Assist with incident investigations and the implementation of improvements
• Manage resource allocation, making sure that sufficient labour, plant and materials are available for all projects
• Monitor project progress against agreed timescales and milestones
• Provide cost information to the QS and assist the commercial team
• Coordinate and encourage collaboration in design, construction and commissioning across all disciplines, ensuring compliance with DNO specifications and industry engineering standards
• Liaise with the DNO for all project matters, including energisation works, as well as with other relevant stakeholders, such as local authorities
• Act as an ambassador for the company, maintaining positive relationships with internal and third-party teams

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an HV Project Manager, working on schemes between 11kV and 132kV, covering areas such as pre-construction, civils and cable installation
• Demonstrable knowledge of UK power distribution sector, especially in the fields of substations, cabling and civils
• Relevant industry and engineering qualifications (degree, HND or equivalent, NRSWA Supervisor etc)
