Job summary

Quartzelec Ltd is offering a 36-month apprenticeship for an Apprentice Power Network Craftsperson based in Ossett. This program aims to develop your technical knowledge, practical skills, and strong safety culture in high-voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure. You will gain hands-on experience while completing recognized power engineering qualifications at UCT Manchester. Key responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing HV switchgear, assisting with testing and commissioning, and substation wiring. Ideal candidates should have GCSEs in Math, English, and Science, along with a keen interest in electrical engineering.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in electrical engineering, power networks, and hands-on technical work.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Willingness to learn and work across various HV sites.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HV switchgear and transformers up to and including 33kV.
• Carry out electrical substation wiring, including complex panel wiring.
• Assist with testing and commissioning of HV installations.
