Location: Glasgow HQ, 320 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5AD

Salary: £69,200 - £86,500 per annum + bonus up to 20%, Family Cover Private Health Care, Perk Car allowance

The HV Operations Manager oversees the Control Room operations on the SPD distribution network, ensuring reliable and efficient electricity delivery, system integrity, and safety. Responsibilities include leading a team of skilled Distribution Control Engineers, maintaining compliance with standards, managing emergency planning, and representing SPD in industry groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Distribution Control Room operations, including faults, maintenance, and connections.
  • Lead a team of 7 first-line and 14 second-line reports, with planned growth.
  • Coordinate interfaces between real-time systems, outage planning, and other departments.
  • Conduct strategic reviews to ensure business readiness for regulatory changes and emerging technologies.
  • Manage emergency planning and business continuity, including severe weather and national outage plans.
  • Drive performance improvement and financial rewards from regulatory schemes.
  • Coach and develop the control room team to meet business objectives.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Expert knowledge of SP Energy Networks policies and procedures.
  • Experience with network development policies and SCADA systems.
  • Strong customer service, negotiation, communication, and people management skills.
  • Experience in a line management role within distribution or transmission networks.
  • Electrical engineering qualification (BSc/BEng/HNC).
  • Experience as a Control Engineer or SAP on electricity networks.
