Alecto Recruitment is seeking an experienced HV Engineer to join our team, delivering high‑quality jointing and electrical works up to 11kV on private networks, including MOD and HMP estates across England. The role requires travel nationwide with occasional overnight stays and SC clearance or eligibility.

We offer a competitive package with a base salary of £50,000–£60,000, a company vehicle with tools, and potential overtime/bonuses, plus ongoing training and security clearance support.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cable Jointer with HV up to 11kV and LV cables.
• Relevant jointing qualifications (NVQ Level 3 Electrical Power Engineering, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence.
• SC Clearance or willingness to obtain SC Clearance.
• CSCS/ECS card and 18th Edition Wiring Regulations are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out jointing and termination of HV (11kV) and LV cables on private network installations (MOD/HMP).
• Undertake fault finding, cable repairs and reinstatement work.
• Install and maintain underground and overhead cable systems.
• Carry out electrical works for private networks, including testing and maintenance.
• Work safely per health and safety regulations and secure site protocols.
• Travel to sites across England with overnight stays as required.
• Complete documentation and test certificates for projects.
• Liaise with site teams, clients, security personnel and contractors.
• Ensure work meets industry standards and company quality requirements.
