Job summary

OCU Group in Scotland is seeking an experienced HV Electrician to join our energy and utilities team. You will install, maintain, test and repair HV and LV electrical systems across a range of installations to support safe and reliable operation of critical infrastructure.

Working with HV supervisors, engineers and technicians, you will deliver high‑quality electrical works while upholding safety, compliance and best practice.

Qualifications

• HV electrical systems knowledge and hands-on experience.
• Ability to test and diagnose faults across HV/LV installations.
• Commitment to safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test and repair HV and LV electrical systems and equipment, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers and protective relays.
• Carry out electrical works involving battery chargers, CCTV, fire alarms and lighting systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults, identify root causes and complete repairs efficiently using appropriate testing equipment and technical documentation.
• Undertake testing and commissioning activities across HV and LV installations, including insulation resistance testing and the interpretation of test results.
• Complete accurate job sheets, test reports, as-built drawings and maintenance records.
• Follow all relevant health and safety procedures, including risk assessments, safe isolation, lockout/tagout and arc flash protection requirements.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers and site teams to plan and deliver electrical works safely and efficiently.
