Job description

Our client is a leading company in theenergy sector is currently seeking a HV Commissioning Engineer to join their team. This role involves traveling to various locations in the UK and overseas, reporting directly to the Senior Electrical Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, commission, modify, and maintain high voltage electrical distribution equipment.
  • Supervise activities on switchgear, transformers, and related equipment (33-400kV).
  • Off-load, install, and commission new panels and electrical equipment.
  • Conduct wiring modifications, retrofit upgrades, and planned maintenance.
  • Perform partial discharge testing, thermal imaging, oil sampling, and fault diagnosis.
  • Ensure safety by conducting site risk assessments and producing method statements.
  • Document test results and produce site work reports.
  • Assist with customer training and promote the company's services.
  • Identify and pursue business opportunities.
  • Participate in the on-call rota for emergency support.
  • Supervise onsite personnel and liaise with project managers.

Skills, Experience & Education:

  • Experience in installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of high voltage switchgear.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team at various locations.
  • Customer-focused with a strong service disposition.
  • Willingness to work at nuclear, military, and offshore locations.
  • Full driving license.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety and high voltage testing.
  • Relevant academic qualifications or experience.
