TRIA Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced HV Commissioning Engineer to join our electrical infrastructure client in the Stourbridge area. The role involves hands-on testing and commissioning of HV switchgear, travel nationwide with overnight stays, and delivering projects independently.

You'll enjoy a base around £70,000 plus a company van, accommodation and expenses covered, 26 days holiday, pension and private healthcare, with ongoing training and career development.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience testing and commissioning HV switchgear.
• Experience working on HV substations and associated electrical equipment.
• Able to carry out testing and commissioning independently, rather than primarily assisting other engineers.
• Strong practical knowledge of HV equipment, electrical testing and fault-finding.
• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
• Comfortable travelling nationwide and staying away from home during the working week.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hands‑on testing and commissioning of HV switchgear and associated electrical equipment.
• Perform electrical testing, fault‑finding and verification to ensure equipment is ready for safe energisation.
• Work across a variety of sites and projects nationwide, taking responsibility for delivering commissioning activities independently.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical specifications to complete commissioning work.
• Produce test results, commissioning reports and associated technical documentation.
• Work closely with the existing commissioning team to deliver projects safely and effectively.
• Access further training and development opportunities depending on your experience and interests.

Excellent opportunity for an experienced HV Commissioning Engineer to join an established, close-knit electrical infrastructure business with a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to play a key role in its continued growth.

The business is looking to expand its commissioning team with someone who can independently deliver HV switchgear testing and commissioning across a varied portfolio of projects nationwide.
