Job description

Job Overview

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic KS3 and KS4 humanities teacher with a strong track record in delivering the GCSE curriculum? Or perhaps you’re an outstanding Early Career Teacher (ECT), excited about developing your skills in a supportive and inspiring environment? If so, we invite you to become a part of our vibrant new SEN school, nestled in the breathtaking Surrey Hills.

About The Role

At Leith Hill School, we are seeking a dynamic and committed humanities teacher who is passionate about making a real difference. Whether you're seasoned in the classroom or just beginning your teaching journey, you will have the opportunity to thrive in a role that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous professional development.

As a core member of our teaching team, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and imaginative humanities lessons across KS3 and KS4, including preparation for GCSEs.
  • Bring energy and creativity to your teaching, utilising innovative methods to inspire and motivate your students.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to integrate exciting cross-curricular opportunities across subjects.
  • Track, assess, and report on student progress, attainment, and engagement, contributing to termly internal and external reports shared with parents and governors.

Our Ethos & Your Role Beyond the Classroom

As a teacher in our SEN setting, you will play a key role in nurturing the wellbeing and personal development of our pupils. Most staff lead a small tutor group of 6–8 students, supporting their social and emotional growth and embodying the school’s values and ethos each day.

While experience supporting autistic learners and knowledge of EHCP processes would be advantageous, it is not essential. Full induction and ongoing training are provided as part of our commitment to professional excellence.
